Seeking Nanny 20 hrs/wk in downtown Cochrane

JB
Active:

Our family is looking to hire a warm, nurturing, and patient nanny to provide part-time, live-out care for our 2 children (9 month old daughter and 4 year old son). We need someone for approximately 20 hours per week with some morning, afternoon, and evening (no later than 7 or 8pm) availability throughout the week (Monday to Friday). The exact schedule is flexible and can be negotiated based on caregiver availability. We are hoping to find someone who can start in March or beginning of April, and can commit to the position for a minimum of 6 months. There is potential for hours to increase over time. The role will primarily be childcare duties as well as preschool pick-up/drop-off (short walking distance), and occasional help with dinner prep. We have a very gentle and quiet senior dog who will appreciate the companionship and may need a treat or a scoop of dog food every now and then. A bit about us: My husband works full time in Calgary and I am returning to part time work as an occupational therapist in Cochrane. I will be working partially in clinic/in the community and partially at home. We are located in East End. Our son is very active and outgoing and enjoys role play, comic books, Lego, bike riding, and rough housing (among many other passions!). He is in preschool 9am-3:30pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays until the end of the school year. Our daughter is a happy, expressive, and easy going baby who loves music and to be with her brother. She can take a little time to warm up to new people. I am still breast-feeding her throughout the day, so will not be out of the house for more than ~4 hours at a time until she gets a little older. We are a laid-back and loving family who value close relationships and time in nature. The right person for us will have the following qualities above all: - A respectful approach to childcare that fosters mutual trust - A warm, caring presence and a desire to form authentic relationships with our kids - A strong ability to remain calm in difficult situations and to set kind and firm boundaries - Knowledge and experience with infants 0-2, including the ability to read and respond to babies’ cues and a solid awareness of health and safety (choking, falls, etc) If you think you might be the right fit for our family we would love to hear from you!
