We are looking for an adaptable, empathetic and reliable Personal Support Worker who appreciates the value of providing support to enhance the quality of life of a child with special needs. The incumbent should be comfortable with personal care tasks and have a natural flair for developing and maintaining respectful and considerate relationships. Job Duties include but are not limited to: 1. Transportation: Safely transport the child to school from Monday to Wednesday. 2. Physical Assistance: Assist the child in moving from the bed to the wheelchair and vice versa. 3. Household Tasks: The worker is required to replace bed sheets and comforter, and vacuum the area around the bed. 4. Laundry: Wash, dry, fold and store the bedding and clothes efficiently. 5. Grooming Assistance: Help the child with daily grooming tasks, as needed. 6. Mobility Assistance: Assist the child in getting safely into and out of the family car. Qualifications: 1. Previous experience in a similar role preferred. 2. Ability to empathize and maintain patience in all circumstances. 3. Valid drivers license. 4. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. 5. Ability to handle physically demanding tasks. 6. Flexibility to manage changes to schedules or routines.
