COVID-19 Safety Protocols Caregivers may not enter the home if they have worked in a hospital or long term care facility, or worked as a visiting nurse/caregiver (several homes for short periods) within the last 14 days prior to a scheduled visit. Exceptions can be made depending on the circumstances but must be discussed with the family first. We ask that caregivers put on ALL masks at the front door or ideally right after they enter the home (at the front door). We do not want anyone wearing the same mask in the house that they have worn in transit to our home. We have hand sanitizer at the front entrance. In terms of gowns, we request they put on new PPE (two gowns one on backwards and one on forwards to ensure that their clothing is not on our couch) If caregivers want to re-use PPE, they will need to store it in a ziploc bag and leave it at our home. We can provide the ziploc bag and label. We recognize there is a shortage in PPE and so alternately, caregivers can bring a freshly washed set of clothing to change into in the bathroom once they have arrived. We are not requiring them to wear scrubs, the clothing just needs to be freshly washed, (unworn) and not worn in transit to our home regardless of where they are coming from. We also follow these recommendations from our son’s Nurse Practitioner at Sick Kids. “We recommend excellent hand hygiene. We have stressed that nurses (caregivers) cannot visit children if they have signs of the illness or have had contact with someone who has symptoms or travel history for the past 14 days outside of Canada. All nurses (caregivers) need to self-screen before any visit and they need to be practicing social distancing and screening other clients and family members they come into contact with." As a family we maintain a limited bubble which includes nurses, a daytime caregiver, and close family members who have extremely small bubbles. Please submit your resume, cover letter and references by Sunday, April 10th, 2021. * Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract Salary: $17.00-$20.00 per hour Schedule: 8 hour shift COVID-19 considerations: See COVID-19 precautions in main job description.
