My wife passed away recently, leaving me behind with an 11 week old baby, 3.5 year old, 7 year old, 10 year old and 12 year old. We had a fairly unique arrangement. I work from home but require more assistance with the children during the day so I can get back into a more steady work schedule. The kids are homeschooled/unschooled and the 10 and 12-year-old are fairly self-sufficient, but not interested in caring for the younger ones for longer periods. We have a couple of dogs who sometimes require being let outside to the backyard for a washroom break.
