Seeking a caregiver in St. Albert for 16-year old girl with disabilities.

KS
Active:

We are looking for another caregiver to add to our amazing team in our busy household! Our lovely 16-year old daughter is medically fragile, nonverbal and wheelchair-bound. She is sweet, has a quiet demeanor, yet a cheeky, light-hearted sense of humor. She does not have any behavior challenges but she does have physical challenges, so a caregiver with good physical strength is an asset even though we do have equipment for lifting. Our daughter requires help with all aspects of daily living. This is great experience for nursing students, although nursing is not a requirement. All things can be taught, so medical experience is not necessary, for the right person who is willing to learn. Our daughter needs help with tube feeding, administering medication, hygiene care, getting out in the community, and getting to and from school and going to appointments. Sometimes the job will entail running errands (vehicle provided), light housekeeping, and meal prep. Although shifts sometimes vary, we do our best to give people set shifts. We have day shifts available, starting at 8am until 3pm or 4pm, Monday to Thursday, and we have the odd evening shifts available (4pm-10pm). The occasional weekend shifts may be needed, but plenty of notice will be given. A valid driver's license and clean driver's abstract is required for this position to take her out in the community. We have overnight-awake shifts available on a 2-week rotation. 2 weekends a month (Friday night and Saturday night) are required, usually every other weekend. Total hours for the 2-week rotation is typically 60-70 hours, 10 pm - 8 am. Week 1 is Tuesday, Wednesday. Week 2 is Sunday, Monday, Friday, Saturday. Reliable transportation to and from St. Albert is needed, as the bus system isn't great at 10 pm. We need the right individual to be fluent in English. The pay does have tax deducted. The rate of pay increases as you get more independent. First training shifts will be with a senior staff member. Please feel free to message me with any questions. Sorry, we are not providing sponsorship.
