Job Summary A loving family in the Kitsilano neighbourhood is looking for an engaging, warm and active nanny to care for their two boys ages 4 and 7 years. In the summer the schedule will be 9:00am-5:00pm. We are looking for someone who can plan activities, playdates and outings for the children keeping them busy, active and stimulated. The family lives near many playgrounds, beaches and community centres and the children have lots of friends in the neighbourhood who they enjoy playdates with. The expectation is that the nanny will arrive in the morning, finish up breakfast, pack a day bag and head out in the morning for a planned activity. Head home around lunch time for lunch and some quiet time and then head out for another activity in the after noon (local park, playdate etc) During the school year the schedule will shift to 8:30-4:30. The older child is in school full-time.The nanny will being responsible for caring for the younger child, getting him breakfast and ready for the day and taking him out to do an activity in the morning. The younger child has a preschool program from 12:00-2:30 each day. While the child is in pre-school the family requires house manager duties to be fulfilled. After school the children do a quiet activities such as Lego, a craft, reading etc to wind down after their busy day. We are looking for a nanny who can assist with managing this family’s busy home with house manager duties such as maintaining a tidy and clean kitchen, children’s bedrooms and play areas, taking out garbages and preparing children’s lunch and snacks and managing the children’s laundry. The family requires assistance with groceries, errands and restocking the home as necessary. Location:  Cornwall Ave and Trafalgar Street, Vancouver Child's age:  4 and 7 years old Start Date: End of June 2024 Contract length: 1 year to start but long term preferred Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:30am-4:30pm during the school year. 9:00am-5:00pm during the summer. With some flexibility to accommodate parents evening commitments (with advanced notice) Hourly Rate: $25-$35/hour gross Responsibilities Provide attentive and responsible care for children in a safe and nurturing environment. Plan and engage children in age-appropriate activities, such as imaginary play, games, crafts, and educational play. Plan and take children out on local outings to parks, beaches, community centres, playdates etc. Prepare and serve meals and snacks for children, ensuring they receive proper nutrition. Assist with house management tasks such as, laundry, tidying/organizing kitchen, playrooms and bedrooms, keeping a grocery list running, doing groceries and errands etc Conduct the children’s daily schedule and routines Walking children to and from school Maintain open and clear communication with parents regarding the child's daily activities, progress, and any concerns that may arise. Requirements/Qualifications 5+ years of Nanny experience in a private home 5+ years of experience working with children Ability to provide a safe and secure environment for children. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with both children and parents Strong organizational skills to manage a busy home, daily routines and schedules. Patience, creativity, and a positive attitude when engaging with children. Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities effectively.
