My name is Clarissa, though I often go by Clara which is much easier for small tongues to pronounce. I have an extensive background in education, childcare, special needs care, and physical education and I’m excited to bring it to a new family who needs me! I have been a personal nanny for 2 families for a total of 4 years, caring for their young children, maintaining the house, and most recently trying my hand at homeschooling which is a huge passion of mine. I believe that with the right resources, care, and attention, homeschooling can be a massively beneficial endeavour for any family, and my dream would be to once again be able to tutor and instruct some little ones! Beyond that, I’m looking for a family who understands the dynamic needed between your nanny and you, and though that looks different for everyone, some staples for me are massive amounts of communication (preferably daily, weekly, and monthly debriefs of various involvement), common goals and interests for the children, and lots of love, stimulation, and encouragement! I believe in good manners, politeness, accountability, and appropriate consequences, both positive and negative, and I can’t wait to bring that to the table with you.

Personal Nanny: 2014-2018 I was a private nanny for two children aged 2 and 5 at the beginning, and was responsible for a number of day to day tasks including school prep, drop off and pick up, school events and field trips, all day care for pre school aged, planning days and activities, prepping meals, light clean up, and light cooking. Circus Arts Instructor: 2012-2019 I instructed a large range of aged but the 5 and under really had a special place in my heart. I loved to plan our physically active time and joined them as they explored their fine motor skills and large body movements. During this time I was also the head instructor for the special needs program and was lucky enough to learn about working with autism and downs syndrome, as well as a number of behavioural problems. While working with the older children it was really amazing to watch them learn and grow under my support, gaining physical strength and mental confidence.
