My name is Jeanne. I am a French worker on an International Experience in Canada. I have a lot of experience working with children, as I have a French diploma certifying I am qualified to work as a camp counselor.
I also have a bachelor's degree in biology, and I really love science. I enjoy setting up practical experiments for kids, and generally sharing my passion with people around me.
Apart from my academic formation, I have a few hobbies. I love reading, especially fantasy and science-fiction, but I can also read essays or more classical books. I also enjoy theatre, as I went to drama class for five years, where I wrote some scripts and helped to set plays. I still like to go see plays, though I don't have as much time. Finally, I can draw, and I enjoy doing it in my downtime.
While I was in college, I did some babysitting for children aged between 2 and 8 years old. During that time, I also tutored two seven years old children in English.
After getting my bachelor's degree, I was a summer camp counselor for two months. During this time, I looked after groups of about twenty children aged between 6 and 17 years old. I organised the daily activities and made sure they were staying in a safe and sanitary environment.
After that, I worked with two associations. I was a daycare assistant with one, and looked after twelve children aged between 6 and 10 years old. I organised a cycle of activities centred around science, with safe practical experiments and a science notebook. With the other association, I was a science mediator, which means I went to different schools and spent an hour and a half talking about science and setting up small practical experiments with children aged between 6 and 10 years old.
