My name is Victoria. I am a single mother to a 7 year old girl who is the front and center of my whole world. I have 7+ years of experience with children and hold a Child and Youth Care worker diploma from Sheridan college. Additionally have some university in this sector as well and will be working towards achieving my undergrad degree at a later date. I have worked with children from the ages of 0-16 in all types of settings such as community programming, foster care, respite work, schools, babysitting, outdoor/nature schools, one on one work and programming for groups of children. What I love about the variety of experiences I have been able to have is the diversity and adaptability skills it has provided me with, all in all making it natural for me to adapt to the ever-changing needs of children and youth. I have an abundance of knowledge about child development, allowing me to be able to adjust my approach in caring for children based on what stages/milestones they are in. As a mother myself, I understand how important it is to have the right amount of care, support and empathy for our children and that settling for hiring just anyone is not an option. Safety on all levels, nurturing and playfulness are definitely the top values I bring into relationships with children. I am passionate about being sure the children/youth I interact with feel safe and happy with me, and adapt to meeting their daily needs/desires throughout each day. I am creative, empathetic, nurturing, respectful, trustworthy and calm. Some interests of mine are reading, writing, working out, meditation, hiking and absolutely anything to do with nature, art/painting and beginning to learn guitar. And of course, I enjoy doing a lot of these activities alongside my beautiful daughter.
