I have lived in Calgary for most of life, but have also had many wonderful opportunities to travel throughout the last ten years. I currently left my long rime job as a finance manager so focus on finishing my second degree at the University of Calgary with a plan to go into medicine. It has always been my dream to work with children on both a personal and professional level, and although I have no children of my own, it has always been a blessing for me to be able to be a part of the lives of the children from my friends and family.
My hobbies and interests include reading, painting, gardening, making costumes and special effects makeup, camping and cooking.
All in all I am just hoping to be able to be a small part of a family in need of child care, house hold chores, cooking, transportstion, and pretty much anything else I can do to help make parents and children's lives a little easier in the stressful time.
My work experience with children began with a family I cared for for most 6 years. They had four children, ages 1, 3, 5, and 7. I cared for the children 4 days a week and on occasion stayed with the children over the weekend while their parents traveled for work. I did cooking, cleaning, park activities, nap time, bed time, dressing for the day and bedtime and making 3 full meals including snacks. I was very lucky to have the trust from the family so early in life and the love of all four children I still keep in contact with to this day.
Since then my experience has mainly been mainly spending time with my brothers 3 children and when he needs an extra hand, as well as for my friends who sometimes just need a break, or a responsible, caring friend to lighten the load.
