Hello,
I am a recent graduate from Queen's University with my undergraduate degree in a Biopsychology Specialization. I have 8 years of childcare experience, and I love the outdoors, exercising, painting, and anything expressive or creative.
In terms of COVID-19, myself and my roommate have taken part in every possible precaution recommended by the government and the University this year, and plan to continue in this way. I am a very responsible and dependable individual, and can provide a reference of a family who I babysat for 6 years, upon request. I also have extensive experience taking care of pets, therefore taking care of your pet will in no way whatsoever impede on my childcare abilities.
One of the highlights of my past volunteer experience is that for two years, I was a volunteer at the Peer Support Centre at Queen's University, meaning that I have great experience in deescalating situations, dealing with difficult topics, and that in general, I have great interpersonal skills. I also worked for the school's Walkhome service for two years, therefore demonstrating that the overarching theme of my extracurricular commitments is student safety and wellbeing.
I hope to be able to provide great childcare for your family. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions :)
I have 8 years of babysitting experience, which began when I was 13 and took a babysitting course and began posting flyers around my neighbourhood. As well, I have a younger brother and two younger cousins who I have taken care of for most of their lives. I love the outdoors and play with the children during the entire duration of my time with them (except for when the children are asleep, where I sit within earshot of their bedrooms, usually in a living room, and quietly read or browse on my phone). When I visit, I usually bring a multitude of games, puzzles, toys (such as bubbles), etc. for the children, and play any games with them that they would like. I am also strict to adhering to parents' instructions, such as bedtimes, brushing teeth, chores, feeding times, etc. I am extremely flexible, and with instruction can complete any necessary task.
I graduated high school from the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, and am now a fourth year undergraduate biopsychology student at Queen's University. I will be graduating this upcoming April, but will be remaining in Kingston for a few years. When I turned 13, I took a babysitting course and continue to stay updated and refreshed on typical protocols in this subject area. I do not currently have my CPR/First Aid, but would be willing to get these certifications should a family have interest in hiring me and would prefer these requirements.
