Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate before and after school program for kindergarten children, by providing materials and equipment that foster their natural sense of curiosity and wonder · Document children’s learning through photographs and text, making learning visible to others. · Support healthy growth and development by organization a variety of activities/experiences both indoors and on the playground · Foster children’s interests; ensure the equipment offered meets the development needs of this age group · Encourage the development of social/emotional skills by offering support in the problem-solving process · Encourage children’s independence in all aspects of the program · Maintain appropriate written documentation in accordance with Childcare policies and procedures, and Ministry of Education requirements

- Experience in providing attentive and nurturing care to children of different ages. - Ability to create a safe and stimulating environment for children to learn and grow. - Proficiency in assisting with daily routines, such as mealtime, bath time, and bedtime. - Skill in organizing and engaging children in age-appropriate craft and play. - Knowledge of basic first aid and CPR for emergencies. - Effective communication with parents/guardians to ensure the well-being of the children.

Perform light housekeeping tasks according to the care plan which may include: light dusting, bed making, vacuuming, cleaning of the bathroom, grocery shopping, laundry, sweeping and mopping of high traffic areas. Simple meal preparation, light garbage removal up to 15lbs and accompany client to appointments. Caregiver relief (companionship, client safety, socialization and recreational tasks). Effectively communicates with clients to understand the client’s preferences. Reports any concerns regarding the health or safety of clients to their Program Leader. Maintains client information based on program needs and employer requirements in accordance with Links2Care’s confidentiality and privacy policies, PHIPA and PIPEDA legislation Follows guidelines and procedures for dealing with incidents Maintains a healthy and safe work environment in accordance with Links2Care’s Health and Safety policies and procedures. Required to attend in-service learning, training and development opportunities as required.
