To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing this reference letter on behalf of Savannah Lomack. During my time as the Site Supervisor for the City of Woodstock Day Camps this summer, I had the good fortune of working alongside Savannah. She worked the position of camp leader, working directly with the children of the camp, working with a different group of children and camp leaders each week.
During the ten weeks of day camp run by the City of Woodstock, Savannah had various roles in the camp environment. She ensured that the children, aged 6-12, were safe at all times by enforcing our five simple rules at the camp. Savannah was very confident and competent in helping the children to understand and follow these rules at all times. Our camps ran one week at a time, with a large turnover in children expecting a fun and engaging environment every day. Savannah came to camp each week with a positive attitude to provide each child with a positive and enjoyable camp experience. Children gravitated towards Savannah, with her outgoing and positive attitude in various situations. She performed tasks that many of the other leaders were not comfortable with, such as performing for the children and talking with parents at the end of the day. Her interpersonal skills with the parents were admirable, as she communicated with parents with a smile and a receptive attitude. She maintained professionalism at all points during the summer when faced with difficult decisions, and used reasonable solutions to overcome these problems.
As a camp leader Savannah had the responsibility of working one on one as a support worker for children with disabilities. She effectively communicated with one of our campers who had speech difficulties, including her in various aspects of the camp. Our camp focused on inclusivity, and Savannah was one of the best at including all campers in all of our activities by creating modifications and promoting inclusion among all campers. Her engagement and desire to get to know each child showed her commitment to support and positive relationships with all campers.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or require any further information.
Sincerely,
Tyler Sinke
