My name is Michaela and I am an Orillia local. I previously was a city of Orillia employee for several years and was a lifeguard and swim instructor. I enjoy being outside and hanging out with friends. Family time is something that is important to me and is a priority in my life. In my free time I enjoy being outside, at my cottage and in the summer on the water! Education is something that I am also very passionate about and I have greatly enjoyed working in schools helping students who have learning difficulties. I love coming up with new ways to teach kids and helping find ways that they learn best. Through my life I have had many opportunity in education with kids of all ages which has developed into a passion for me. I have gained many skills through teaching, planning and implementing plans that I think would be a great asset in this job.

I am a student right now, taking my bachelor of education to be a teacher. I have more than 5 years experience teaching swimming lessons to children ages 0-16 and one summer as a camp counsellor. I have a undergraduate degree as well as a diploma in recreation and leisure. I have up to date first aid as well as 2 years experience working in a class room environment.
