Hello, my name is Chloe. I am currently a university student at UVic, seeking a nanny position from May to August. I have accumulated four years of diverse experiences with children, including babysitting, mentoring, and coaching youth soccer. These experiences have highlighted my exceptional ability to relate to and engage with children. My schedule offers flexibility, as I am available from Monday through Friday during the morning and afternoon.
Despite being only 18, I exhibit responsibility and resilience which reflects a maturity beyond my years. This has been greatly influenced by my past experience in labor and customer service roles. These roles have also equipped me with solid multitasking skills, which are very beneficial when caring for children. I can confidently care for up to three children, ranging from toddlers to teenagers.
I am able to assist with various duties including cooking, light housekeeping, running errands, grocery shopping, preparing children's meals, child transportation, doing laundry, helping with homework, and following special dietary rules. I am also equipped to care for children with disabilities and adhere to dietary restrictions for those who are vegetarian, lactose intolerant, or observing Kosher.
Spending time outdoors, engaging in activities like hiking, exploring nature, and playing sports are things I love doing. Such activities spark children's curiosity and interest. My pursuit of a degree in the sciences exemplifies my love for knowledge and equips me to aid children with their homework and overall academic growth.
I am seeking a live-out, full or part-time Nanny, Babysitter, or Nanny/Housekeeper position. My supportive nature is demonstrated by my strong family bonds; my sisters are my best friends and I continue to support the Sooke Soccer Club by playing and coaching in my hometown of Sooke. This nurturing environment has fostered my growth into a responsible and compassionate individual, capable of expertly catering to your childcare needs.
- Experience working with Big Brothers Big Sisters, a program that unites young impressionable kids who are struggling at home with adults or young adults who can be their friends. I was paired with a boy in grade 5 who had a hard home life. my responsibility was to be his friend, so he could have an adult around who was consistently in his life. I visited with him every Friday for the duration of the program.
- Babysitting for a family in Sooke, two children, an average of 6 hours per day biweekly. I started when the oldest girl was 3 and continued to work for the family until she was 7 and her younger sister was 4. Responsibilities included playing with the kids both inside and outside and encouraging creativity.
- Babysitting/ Housesitting for a Sooke family when the parents leave, often for 4 -5 days. The two children, a boy and a girl, were 10 and 11. Responsibilities included making their meals, planning their activities, and taking them to school and sports practices.
- Coaching youth soccer teams. I have coached both girls and boys and have been coaching a little boys' team for 3 years. I began coaching the team when they were 8. Responsibilities include managing a team of 12 kids, keeping them focused, and helping them progress in sports. Training sessions (twice a week) and games usually run for 1 hour and 30.
- Babysitting by younger siblings and cousins from the ages 1 to 12.
