I'm a British student studying a funded masters in medieval studies at U of T! I completed my undergrad degree in English Literature so I love reading and writing. I balanced part-time work in the holidays around my intense degree, working in waitressing and childcare, and so want to take on a job alongside my degree here. I don't have a lot of contact hours so can be very flexible! I have a native language of English plus fluency in French, and a decent level of Spanish.
I am friendly, respectful, and tidy, and (I think) quite funny and personable! I'm also very hardworking and interested in learning new skills and about different cultures and lifestyles. My other interests outside my degree include yoga and dance, and watching films!
I'm available to work for up to 15/20 hours a week and am happy for my shifts to vary week on week, or be a regular routine. I'd prefer to work after 2.30pm on most days as I tend to do most of my academic work in the early mornings but I'm more than happy to be flexible on that - a few hours a week in the mornings would also be perfect! Ideally looking for work in and around the Bloor/Downtown/Bathurst areas (sorry if that's a bit vague - I still don't full understand the Canadian/Toronto borough system!!).
I am happy to submit a CV and attend in person or zoom interviews and trial shifts.
Thank you for your consideration!
I've worked as a babysitter to between 1 and 8 children at once, with ages ranging from 1 up to 16. Some of the children had disabilities and behaviour difficulties (ADHD, autism, down's syndrome, and cerebral palsy).
These jobs included cooking and cleaning, helping with homework, and entertaining the children - and balancing the needs of children of various ages. I was hired regularly and repeatedly by the same families for years until their children were too old to need babysitting! On top of this, I have five years of experience waitressing, so I’m very good at organisational tasks and cleaning.
I have also worked as a tutor in maths, English, and French to children aged between 10 and 18, and I did work experience at a primary school (ages 4-11) for a month, helping run lessons and taking small groups out of class to do different activities.
