I have been working as a child care provider for the past 10 years as a nanny/babysitter as well as a childrens art instructor
As a Childcare worker I am very hands on and attentive. I am extremely patient but believe in setting boundaries and am comfortable working with and implementing routines that work for the family. I believe in treating children as individuals and fostering their interests. I enjoy encouraging learning through play and creativity.
As an instructor I plan and implement age appropriate art activities and programmes for ages 2- 13. Projects for younger children focus on introducing them to the materials while developing fine motor skills and exploring shapes and colours. Emphasis is always put on encouraging creativity.
I bring my experience teaching art in a class setting to working one on one with kids. I love arts and crafts and have an extensive bank of project ideas for various ages. I also love reading and singing and exploring the outdoors. I make sure to get outside to the park or simply to explore the neighbourhood on a daily basis or plan outings to the library or community center drop-ins on rainy days. I speak and read French and have worked with families whose children attend French immersion and would be more than happy incorporate French when working with kids.
I don’t drive but am comfortable commuting around the city. I don’t smoke, love pets and would be open to nanny share options. If you have any further question please don’t hesitate to ask.
