I am 37 year old, ( non smoker), I just moved back in to my parents home in wasaga beach, from Barrie. (I can travel) I’m not working currently so my schedule is completely flexible.
Please feel free to contact me if my profile has sparked an interest. I would LOVE to speak with you and discuss anything further and tell you all about myself. I feel I’ve said a lot already and given a good insight into who I am as a professional, and I would love to tell you all about who I am as I person.
I’m a lot of fun and I am very passionate about children and animals and most of life has revolved around those two things. ! I have many amazing stories with wildlife and I’m also a photographer and love taking pictures of wildlife and I also LOVE bugs (bees, wasps moths, butterflies, dragonflies, spiders, amphibians, reptiles, birds etc) are my favourite things in life. I do lots of research and lots of rescuing. Let me know if I sound like someone your children would love and be comfortable around, I’d love to hear from you !
I’ve worked as an ECE assistant, at Little People’s daycare in a Stayner, ON. When I lived in New York, I worked in the school (Freedom Village Academy) as a teachers helper and also in their daycare (as parents who worked at the ‘Village’ brought their children to the school or the daycare on site.
Through out my youth, my mother ran a home daycare business for several years and I helped her with the many aspects of the children’s care. For example I would assist in serving children their meals, preparing their snacks, helping to get them ready for school and out to the bus, as well as helping the little ones with all their winter gear etc. With the younger children and toddlers, I helped with learning activities, crafts, games, puzzles, sing-songs, we’d take them on PA Days to a children’s play place which they absolutely loved. I’d also assist my mom with getting the young ones down for their naps and helped with the clean up and regular maintenance and tidying up after them. We had a very young special needs child, whom required a lot of one-on-one care and support. Through that experience, I not only developed a special bond with children with special needs but I also learned a lot from my mother and her care for this special child.
Later on in my teenage years I was hired by a mother to work with one of my school peers, as a private DSW. This boy with cerebral palsy, was paralyzed from his vocal cords down and he needed full- time, 100% support and care. I worked with him 2 evenings a week for 3 hours and I was taught how to do his personal physiotherapy, I learned to feed him safely and correctly. I also learned to correctly use a lift, and change his diaper and clothing and also learned to help bathe him. I’ve had oodles of experience with children and babies. Between just my pure love and adoration for children and babies (as I had always dreamed of becoming either a OBGYN or a Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse. I am auntie to many children that I have no blood relation, Godmother to a special boy, and also have a massively beautiful family and all the children that are part of it; absolutely adore their Auntie Ashley.
I have such a special place in my heart for children, and I’ve also worked very closely with children with autism. I, myself being on the spectrum makes it very easy for me to connect with other children also on spectrum.
I find that there is an unspoken connection there, that’s is so powerful yet so humble and pure. I feel that I can read children very well and understand their needs and have spent a lot of time learning about child development and how to provide the support that they need most.
There is much more to me and to my experiences with all sorts of different people, cultures, even animal service. My second best feature is my wild ability to communicate (non verbally) with animals of all kinds —especially those in the wild. I have a whole other resume for my experience with animals. So I will love your children like my own and love your pets too. ❤️🥰
I graduated grade 12 with honours and went to school in New York at Freedom Academy. I completed some individual college courses; received a certificate for parent/child relationship psychology. (there were more but I can’t recall the names of the courses). I worked as a (privately hired) Disability Support Worker for quite a number of years. I did not obtain my DSW because I was hired privately by the mother of the boy I worked with and she taught me everything. I learned how to appropriately care for the needs of someone who was completely reliant upon their caregiver for every single need, as he was completely paralyzed from his the vocal cord, down to his feet. So although I have no formal education, I have very formal experience, which has educated me behind my higher expectations.
