Hi my name is Julie. I am 24 years old and currently a student at Trent University, Oshawa. I am doing a double major in psychology and child and youth studies. I want to achieve my doctorate in child psychology. Ever since I was young, I have always loved children. I have been babysitting and looking after children ever since I was 11 years old. I have looked after children between the ages of 2 months old to 12 years old. I have a lot of experience with boys because I have two brothers and have watched after many little boys. I have done nanny services for a family as well as gone on vacation with the family to watch after the kids. I have volunteered and done co-op placements at a school for children with disabilities. During my co-op placement, I was around children with autism, down syndrome, and apraxia. Some of my interests include scrap booking, reading, going to movies and hanging out with friends and family. I am a huge family person. My whole family is extremely close.
I look forward to hearing from you.
I started babysitting my two little cousins when I was 12. The little boys were 1 and 3. Once my youngest cousin was born, I was babysitting all three cousins (2 weeks old, three years old and five years old).
I picked up another job babysitting an 8 month old baby boy for a few hours at a time. For a number of years I took care of their two little boys from the time until they were babies until they were seven.
I occasionally babysat a three year old girl while her mother went out for the evening. Lastly, I took care of two other little boys for a number of years. I watched the oldest from the time he was 1 until aged 6. I did a nanny placement for their family, watching after the young boy and his baby brother. I went on vacation with the family, twice to look after the kids.
I completed a high school co-op placement at a school for children (aged 1-5) with disabilities. I also volunteered at this school for the toddlers because I love being around children.
