I’m in search of a Caregiver for my 71 year old father who is diabetic and has suffered a severe stroke in October of 2023. He has lost most of his speech as well as the use of his right arm and leg. He is a gentle, kindhearted man who is usually cooperative and of good spirits. We are a family of 5, my wife and I, as well as our 4 year old girl, 6 year old boy and now my father of course. PSW's visit the home 2 times a day to aid with 2-person tasks like bathing and transferring. The weekends would generally be days off. Main care needs will include: Transferring bed/wheelchair Help with changing diapers Help with washing/Bathing Feeding Giving oral medication Help with mobility exercises Oral care/Toothbrushing We are a warm, fun and friendly family, but this is a challenging time for us. My wife and I both work full-time jobs and we do not want our dad to have to spend his days in a nursing home. We want him to remain an active member of the family and live with dignity.
