In need of immediate assistance for an 87-year-old woman in our family. This role offers both Full-Time and Part-Time positions and is a Live-Out job arrangement that would involve 20 - 30 hours weekly (days and hours can be accommodated to). The role primarily involves senior care responsibilities, including but not limited to: bathing assistance and toileting assistance (as the elderly woman requires diaper care), dressing and grooming (she particularly takes pleasure in having her hair oiled and her legs massaged), and support in her range of motion exercises if possible. The position will also entail housekeeping and laundry tasks, meal planning and preparation, and occasional errands. Given her limited mobility, you might have to regularly clean the bathroom, vacuum, and hand wash dishes. It would be an asset if the potential caregiver could be able to plan for visits and outings to see neighbors, friends, and family, though escorting her to appointments and family outings won't be a primary requirement but would definitely provide added value. You would also need to provide general supervision around the home. Our home is filled with love and care for each other; we are a family of 5 with a pet dog, so being comfortable around animals is a must. A crucial aspect of this role is the ability to communicate understandably with the elderly woman, who exclusively speaks Hindi and Punjabi; thus, speaking one or both languages would be a major asset. You should also be willing to work with, or already have experience with incontinence (diapers), diabetes, and hearing impairment as these are part of her daily life. For this role, a driver's license is an asset, and you will also be expected to utilize your own car for transportation needs. Your main task would generally be to help her with her daily care needs while also providing companionship and occasional help throughout the day.
