Looking for caregivers for permanent part time (up to 6hrs/day) for elderly male. Senior is non vocal and does not have any use of right side (due to stroke). He has a great sense of humour and needs an upbeat and confident caregiver to get him up in the mornings, some afternoons, weekends and evening. Flexible schedule! **Must speak english and communicate well and are good with friendly pets (cats and dogs) Responsibilities to include: • Pre- and post-bathing support/personal grooming/hygiene (as required) • Mobility assistance (if required) • Meal preparation • Housekeeping/cleaning duties (including dusting/vacuuming/weekly laundry) • Companionship and emotional support • Ensuring his physical safety at all times • Medication assistance • Light exercises • Overall assistance/management of the home (as per direction) • Other related duties as assigned Required skills: • Excellent communication skills – verbal • Must have previous experience working with the elderly • Must be trustworthy, dependable, punctual, flexible and possess a strong work ethic • Must have patience, compassion, empathy and high level of respect for the elderly • Must have attention to detail, in following routine and be willing to accept direction • Must be willing to learn/or know how to prepare nutritious meals • Must be in good physical health * Must have reliable transportation* *Will consider students related Health Care field with strong skills, experience and references.
