I'm seeking a caring, dependable, and punctual person to provide part-time senior care for my 90-year-old parent who is still able-bodied and mobile, but who could do with some assistance around the house. The person who fits this role will need to offer consistent supervision to ensure medications are taken on time and aid is provided during mealtimes. The job will entail a weekly commitment of 20 to 30 hours, spreading the workload over Monday to Friday, including mornings, mid-days, and occasional evenings. Aside from overseeing medications and meals, the caregiver's duties will involve light housekeeping tasks like ensuring the bathroom is kept clean, vacuuming floors, and washing dishes. The role may also include running some basic errands, such as grocery shopping. Importantly, I want to enrich my parent's social life, so arranging visits, outings, and trips to stimulate engagement with neighbors, friends, and family is a desirable part of the job. The ideal candidate will need to have a valid driver's license and a car, as there will be times when escorting my parent to appointments or various social engagements is required. We are willing to compensate for such expenses. This job currently requires a live-out arrangement, however, previous experience with dementia patients would significantly enhance your profile, even though it’s not strictly indispensable. As time goes on, the role may develop into a live-in position or require occasional overnight stays.
