I am currently searching for a mature woman, preferably with care-giving or companionship experience, who can assist my mother, a 97-year-old lady, in her day-to-day activities, two days each week starting from 2:00pm until 8:00pm. The two days could be chosen by you from either Monday, Wednesday, or Friday, with the possibility, although less frequent, to also come by on an occasional Sunday afternoon. My mother is in good physical condition for her age, and she walks on her own with the assistance of a walker. She resides in her own home and is used to carrying out some tasks independently, though she enjoys taking naps throughout the day. At times, she may require some assistance when going to the washroom, particularly when it comes to cleanliness and washing her hands. There may also be occasions when she might need help soaking her feet, and then carefully applying cream to them. One of the main duties for this job takes a form of companionship to my mother during her wakeful hours. This could involve simply sitting with her, perhaps holding her hand, and offering conversational engagement. You would also be required to prepare the evening meal, though don't worry, all necessary food ingredients would be provided for you. One of your responsibilities would be to administer an afternoon pill to her at around 4:00pm. As the day winds down, you may be tasked to help put her to bed. Her usual bedtime is around 7:45PM, but it's not a strict requirement. If she happens to stay up past that, the 8:00pm shift caregiver can step in and assist with the bedtime routine. This particular caregiving position is expected to start from April 3. Remuneration would be negotiable, depending upon experience and hours worked.
