I am an individual suffering from cerebral palsy and currently residing in my parent's home. I'm seeking a dedicated caregiver who can provide companionship and partake in limited housekeeping duties. As a 32-year-old male, my specific needs include cleaning my personal space, washing dishes, handling laundry, occasional personal care such as changing briefs and bed baths, and going for walks. Don't worry about the heavy lifting, I have a ceiling lift and also an elevator in my home.
The caregiver will also be responsible for operations such as bed pan handling, ambulation assistance, Hoyer lift operation, bathing assistance, and dressing grooming assistance. Additional responsibilities will include toileting assistance, range of motion exercise, housekeeping, laundry, meal planning or preparation, bathroom cleaning, assistance with walking, vacuuming, hand washing dishes, escorting to appointments, planning visits, outings, and trips to visit neighbours, friends, family, lifts and transfers, patient positioning, and bed baths.
I am looking for a part-time, live-out assistance, who can provide services for less than 20 hours per week, preferably Thursday and Saturday mornings. Although a driver's license is not needed, I would prefer a caregiver who is experienced or willing to work with incontinence (diapers), visual impairment, and quad/paraplegic care. Please note that the use of an automobile is not applicable to this role.
Preference will be given to female applicants due to my personal comfort and care requirements. I'm hoping for the incumbent to start on the 2nd of December, 2023. This role will suit someone who is patient, caring, dedicated, and understanding to the unique challenges posed by my condition.
