Looking for a caregiver for our ninety-year old mom for four hours in the afternoon (12-4), Monday - Friday, while her family is at work. Duties include helping with dressing, reminders for toileting, washing up, short walks/exercising light cleaning/tidying, one meal preparation (late lunchtime) and company/conversation. Also need to coordinate with people who come to help her bathe and apartment cleaning. Some information about our mom: She came from Pakistan over fifty years ago and has lived in her current home since. She has taken care of her loved ones all her life, which makes her quite stubborn to accept help from others. She has been a widow for thirty years and was very independent until 10 years ago when she started to experience a mental decline. More recently, she has also been declining physically and although she can still walk, is quite unstable on her feet. She is a fluent English speaker but her native languages are Gujarati and Urdu. She has two daughters, one of whom, lives directly downstairs and is her primary caregiver. Her other daughter lives in the U.S. We need a female caregiver who is patient, confident and has experience working with elderly dementia patients. An older women, who is from or has knowledge of our cultural and linguistic background is a plus. The interview screening questions are: =========================== 1.
