We are in need of a compassionate and experienced full-time Live-In Senior Healthcare Worker ready to join our loving family home. We are looking for someone to assist our bedridden mother with Alzheimer's. Our dad lives with us as well, however, he is self-sufficient and enjoys good company. Your position will mainly be for 5 days a week, with expected hours ranging from 40 to 50 hours a week. The working schedule encompasses Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday, including mornings, middle of the day, evenings, and nights. The candidate is expected to have their own car as some tasks may require driving, and a driver's license is a must. You will have your own comfortable room complete with a private bathroom, as this is a live-in position. You will also be provided with room and board. Your duties in this role will involve supervising and directing an already existing team of Personal Support Workers (PSW) who are available for eight hours every day. You'll need to manage their schedule, direct them to perform tasks, or step in yourself when they are not available. Key responsibilities will include housekeeping, laundry, grocery shopping, preparing all meals, and ensuring that either you or the PSW assist in changing our mom, bathing her, brushing her teeth, and feeding her. Meal planning and preparation, along with keeping a check on groceries and supplies, are also part of the job role. You will also be required to ensure that medications are administrated as needed. To ensure our mother's safety and comfort, solid experience with a hoyer lift is required, and knowledge of Alzheimer/Dementia care would be an added asset. We ideally prefer a cheerful, energetic, and dedicated individual who is willing to step in dynamically based on the needs of the family. This position has an immediate start date.
