Job location - Pitt Meadows, BC
Key Responsibilities
Adhere to the plan of care as determined by the family & medical professionals;
Facilitate patients’ move in and transfers where applicable;
Assist the client with personal care and hygiene and activities of daily living;
Observe and report on changes in clients condition to family;
Plan and prepare nutritious meals as required;
Assist with ambulation, mobilization, transferring and adaptive aids;
Ability to understanding of client needs and maximize abilities;
Assist in maintaining a safe and cleanly environment, including clients room, equipment, belongings, and nursing equipment;
Light housekeeping services and laundry
Exercise and physical assistance
Engage with other agencies involved in resident/client care as directed;
Monitor medication, vitals including blood sugar;
Drive client to Doctor’s appointments/ Social engagements;
Conversation, companionship and mental stimulation.
May involve out of the country travel to provide assistance in the care of the patient, as necessary.
Weight Handling Up to (20 lbs)
Work conditions - combination of sitting, walking, standing
Qualifications
Passionate about providing care & Experience with elderly people
Must be honest, reliable, confident and highly sociable and.
Must feel confident in your ability to engage the Client in activities and conversation.
Mandatory criminal record check.
Must be able to work minimum 30 hours per week on shifting schedules including evenings or Saturday, and Sunday.
High School Diploma or College Diploma,
Ability to perform tasks that are necessary for the position, e.g. lifting/transferring client.
Driver's license - Good to have but not mandatory.
Must be a Non Smoker.
