I'm a 30 year old wheelchair bound male individual looking for a caregiver in Vancouver (near Olympic Village area). I'm 6'2" and ~70kgs. Most of the work involved is simple and can easily be done by an able-bodied person. I'm willing to train you as well. I prefer live-in arrangements where the right candidate can stay rent free with me. Roles and responsibilities would include:
* Personal hygiene - bowel / bladder incontinence
* Shifting to and from wheelchair / bed (I have a lift)
* Cooking
* Cleaning home occasionally
* Helping me live independently - laundry, groceries, etc
* Accompanying me to appointments occasionally
Although it sounds like a lot, the total work hours are less than 4-6 hours a day. Most of the time I'm busy working on my computer, so there's a lot of free time for you. As part of live-in, you can stay with me in my home (no rent to be paid). You're free to take up other part-time work as well, to supplement your income. Keep in mind this can easily be a long term position if we can work together without friction because I'll need a caregiver all my life. We can agree upon a biweekly pay arrangement which suits both of us.
