I came to Canada in 2004 as a live-in caregiver and cared an elderly man for 8 yrs with alzheimer's disease. Also I worked as a PSW for 1 yr to an elderly woman with dementia. I am a registered nurse in the Philippines and graduated here as an RPN at Centennial College. I have a nine years experienced with elderly care and a clinical experienced in long-term care and geriatric rehabilitation during my RPN clinical duties. I am responsible, hard working, caring, compassionate, kind, understanding, patient, etc. I love cooking and walking. I made sure that I did my duties and responsibilities properly and safely. I made sure that my clients were happy and satisfied with the care and help that I provided with them, not only for my clients but also to their families. I am an RPN licensed and can be a private or personal nurse in your home or any facilities. I can give medications/ injections, can check blood sugar and can do basic wound dressing.

I helped/assisted clients of activities of daily living like personal hygiene, bathing, grooming and dressing;assisted with or provided peri-care; applied lotions and non-medicated creams;performed or assisted with mouth care including denture care and cleaning; assessed client's skin during each shower/bath checked for any bruises, surface wounds, dryness, cracked skin, unusual redness or swelling/edema; applied deodorants and powders; assisted with incontinent products, or to and from the bathroom;made sure that my client took the schedule medication on time; I cooked, prepared the foods and assisted clients to eat; I did laundry such as washing, drying, folding and putting away laundry; tidy the bedroom and bathroom after personal care duties are performed;changed bed linen; provided surface dusting, sweeping and mopping of floors and vacuuming, washed dirty dishes, disposed of any expired foods, garbage and recycling; removed unnecessary clutter from hallways and pathways that could potentially cause falls;accompanied client on a short walk; provided socialization for a client and encouraged client to talk about his/her concerns; reported any changed in client's condition to client's family; ensured that hearing aids, glasses and mobility aids like walker/wheelchair/cane are in working order and being used; offered healthy snacks and ensured enough fluid intake; assisted in Range of motion exercise, cleaned wound care; cared and changed colostomy bag; gave insulin injections with DM client, gave anticoagulant injection and pain killer injections like dilaudid/morphine and administered Vit. B 12 injection as per MD order. Additional Experiences/Qualifications: I worked as a caregiver for almost 9yrs to a very nice gentleman(alzheimer) and worked as a PSW for 1 yr to an elderly woman with dementia. Also I worked as a private duty nurse for 4yrs to an elderly woman whose in the late stage of alzheimer.
