I sincerely believe I can make a positive difference in the lives of those I care for. I am a patient and trustworthy person who enjoys conversing with and listening to others. I am very punctual, loyal and easy to get along with. I am fluent in both Mandarin and Cantonese, and can also speak English. I love working with both seniors and children, and have a lot of experience in doing both. During my 10 years as a certified teacher in Macau (near Hong Kong), I was able to keep control with patience and understanding in the classroom. I also had very good relationships with all my students and made a point to keep them good. After coming to Canada, I have volunteered at Montessori School. Then I worked for two families after that as live in nanny, caring for children as well as teaching them mandarin. In China, I lived with and looked after my own mother for 21 years (between ages 76 to 95). I have volunteered for about 2 years as a caregiver for two dear seniors, one in her own home, and the other in a long term care facility. I am very sympathetic towards them and try my best to offer whatever comfort I can by providing manicures, Chinese massage, etc. I can also easily follow recipes, and prepare meals. I enjoy leisurely walks, reading, swimming. I am interested in finding a family or senior with which I can stay and care for, and hoping I can bring improvements to the lives of those people.
