I am mature, have 10+ years experience as a caregiver/companion. I have a Social Work Diploma, and a sense of humor. My background includes working 14 years for an Oil and Gas company, and 11 years in the Social Work field. I was raised on a farm, and the farm roots are still with me. For the last two years I have been working with a family in Bragg Creek. The lady I work with is a Diabetic, and recently had a Islet transplant. She has Vascular Dementia, and Gait disorder, as a result of a major stroke. Her condition has deteriorated and was put on a wait list for long term care. Therefore, the reason for me looking elsewhere. Since this position, I began working with a pallative individual with Cancer who has now passed away. Reason for looking once a again.
I look forward to meeting with you for an in person interview to discuss suitability for the needs of your family member.
Thank you for your time and consideration
As a caregiver I provide a safe, secure, professional environment which meets the needs of the individual. I assist with daily activities such as grooming, and personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication reminders, keeping the home safe and clean, as well as the overall supervision of the client's physical and mental well being. Other activities include light housekeeping, shopping, cooking, laundry, driving to appointments, and outings. Travelling with clients to their second homes, or going on vacation on the spur of the moment is okay. I am open to learning new things.
If you are interested I can send you my resume, and a letter of recommendation from a previous employer. I can also give you a hard copy of another employer recommendation on an in person interview.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Additional Experiences/Qualifications:
I do drive, and have a car, but prefer to drive employer's vehicle if one is available. If not, I do charge mileage for clients use.
I would like to add that I am okay with cats, and love dogs. My previous positions all had dogs, and I became as attached to them as the owner.
