Hello, My name is Aida. I am looking for a private care job either in the client's home, or any facility. I am a Registered Practical nurse with updated license with the College of Nurses of Ontario and both certified as Health Care Aide and Personal Support Worker. I have also certificate in Dementia Care specific for Alzheimer's clients with behavioral complexities. I have over 10 years of combined experience as a nurse and PSW and I am committed to quality service to my clients and making a difference in their well-beings. I enjoy working with seniors, understand the aging process, respectful and sensitive to their specific needs based on their different ethnic and cultural backgrounds. In addition, I am compassionate, hardworking, responsible with great sense of humor. I enjoy traveling and sight-seeing and domestically, I love cooking and gardening which I am willing to share to my client if this will make a difference in her/his daily living. If for reason that I will be hired in a private home, I can be trusted taking in charge with the household activities. By the way, I worked as private care for 8 yrs. with the same employer. I hoped to hear from you soon. Thank you.

I have over 10 years of combined work experience as a nurse, Psw in hospital, long term care facility, community and private homes, 8 years of those, I worked with a client of multiple medical problems(heart, stroke, kidney, cancer)I started as a cook and housekeeper, then later on, I was in-charge with the overall management of my client's affluent home which include: grocery shopping, bookeeping and budgetting of household expenses. menu planning and meal preparation, laundry and general housekeeping. In addition, I assisted my client with his activities of daily living(he was paralyzed left side because of the stroke)bathing, toileting, ambulation, exercises. I assisted in giving oral medications, even narcotics thru telephone instructions by caring doctor. Also ordered refills of his medications and scheduled medical appointments. accompanied client to emergencies, surgeries, dental appt. and even social invitations. Trained and supervised additional staffs and caregivers, solved conflicts between them. Discussed day-to-day observations to family, treating doctors and provided best quality palliative care and strong emotional support to dying client. As` a nurse, I administered oral medications, give insulin injections, monitor sugar levels of diabetic clients, wound dressing, applied nitro patch, eye drops, ointments, enemas etc. I observed and monitor vital signs (BP, temperature, Pulse, oxygen saturation) and changes that needs to be reported to treating doctor. I worked as well assisting a physician in a day surgery endoscopy clinic during siegmoidoscopy, anuscopy and cryotherapy procedure. I worked also with Alzhiemer's clients with behavioral complexities and my special training in dementia care (certificate) is very helpful. Additional Experiences/Qualifications: If possible, I would prefer client who is still mobile and does not require heavy lifting. thank you

I worked for her Mom, Mrs. best for about 3 months in a retirement home following her confinement at Sunnybrook hospital due to fall. Mrs. Best had an anxiety attacks with mild dementia. I was her confidante, advocate when she wants something to say/ask to the retirement home staff. I was her partner doing physio daily exercises and provided some coaching to re-build self confidence. She was also hospitalized with infection and later died. I was with her in her death bed holding her hand, repositioning, giving water, gentle touch and comfort........
