I am a compassionate, caring and dedicated senior caregiver. I get great satisfaction in helping others and like to think of myself as not only a senior caregiver but a senior companion. I live in Airdrie and have 3 beautiful daughters (and 3 beautiful granddaughters) I enjoy working with seniors and keeping them engaged by just talking, doing puzzles, reading to them, going for walks, going through photo albums. My mom was diagnosed with Dementia about 7 years ago and one of her favourite things is watching her curling and going through the photo albums. I have worked with clients regarding ALS, MSA (multiple systems atrophy), Dementia / Alzheimer's (including Sundowners) and end of life care at home and in Hospice.

I am a compassionate caregiver who loves doing what I do: understand and recognizes the needs and feelings of Seniors and those not able to care for themselves by themselves. I help them so they are able to stay in their own home and keep some sort of independence. Working with husband to come up with the best way to aid his wife in difficult situations. Communicated with client by text to speech app on her phone. I was recently working for a wonderful family in Edson (live in) - their mother has MSA (multiple systems atrophy) - my duties included helping L get around using her walker, wheelchair, showering, grooming, getting dressed, going to the washroom, helping with exercises when Home Care was not there, ensuring she took her medication, ordering medication, checking blood pressure on a regular basis, taking her to doctors appts, shopping, errands, work, visiting family. Cooking, cleaning, laundry, mail, helping out at her office. Additional Experiences/Qualifications: Live-in caregiver/companion for a woman who was diagnosed with early onset Dementia/Alzheimer's, Blood Cancer/Bone Cancer. I was responsible for her care Monday - Friday full day and night. My duties included transfers, toileting, administer medications, grooming, meals, laundry, housekeeping. When she was placed in Hospice care I attended to her at the hospice (Monday to Friday) (8:00am to 5:00pm) as her companion during the day to ensure she ate and drank enough fluids and assisted with transfers for bed and toileting. Also assisted visitors with communicating with her.
