My name is Sarah , and I am a Gerontology graduate from McMaster University that has specialized in Therapeutic Recreation. I am also currently completing the online Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology education program through Yorkville University. Through my experiences, I have acquired the skills necessary to work towards enhancing the lives of individuals and families through support services, awareness, inclusion and recognition. My goal is ultimately to enhance the daily lives of my clients by promoting independence, inclusive and accessible participation and positive well-being. I have worked with individuals experiencing a wide range of special needs, disabilities and/or challenging behaviors in a variety settings including community and long-term care. I am looking to provide support services to families that are looking for additional support for things such as: -Teaching situational daily living skills -Setting & working towards accomplishing goals -Observing individuals relevant skill strengths and needs -Transporting the individual to various activities, appointments, employment opportunities etc -Assisting individuals to participate in community activities and providing support during these activities. -Assisting individuals with in-home daily living skills -Assisting the individual to buy groceries, prepare meals and complete housekeeping tasks etc -Communicating with the primary caregivers to give up-dates and share information -Ensuring safety and security within the home -Medication reminders -Montessori for Dementia Programming I have open flexibility, competitive rates, transportation, training, and willing to retrain wherever possible.
