I have retired from my career as a community mental health counselor/court support worker and am taking a breather. I am volunteering for the Canadian Cancer Society as a driver as a means of giving back for excellent care given to my mother. I travel to Toronto a few times per month for her treatments so I am only looking for occasional babysitting opportunities. I love children and miss being around young curious minds (my son is 22 and is off at university).

Certified as PSW with placement in the field of activation and activities of daily living. Also provided private psychosocial rehabilitation to a senior recovering from a hip replacement (with need for motivation and direction in performing restorative exercises). My background is in mental health and advocacy and find my specialty is in relating to senior's psychosocial/recreational needs. I have undertaken G. P. A training (dementia care) and am also going to undertake Montessori Methods for Dementia training.
