  About Me

I am a 23 year old female, and I recently graduated from the University of Victoria. At the University of Victoria I obtained an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering. While I was attending university I worked as a care giver to two boys, aged 5 and 11. I also tutored math and physics up to the grade 12 level. I have my national coaching certificate level one, my freestyle ski coaching certificate, and my soccer community coach certificate. I have worked as a freestyle ski coach intermittently since grade 10, and worked as a mountain biking coach for Escape Adventures.

I have my level one first aid, which is valid until August 2018. I am organized, punctual, and cleanly. I have a class 5 drivers license and a clean driving record. I also own my own vehicle. I have a valid Canadian passport and I am willing to travel.

I was born and raised in North Vancouver, by a very active family. I love to be outside, and am always on a new adventure. I am an animal lover, and grew up with dogs and cats. I played rep soccer in high school, as well as competed on the Western Canadian Freestyle Ski Team and for the BC Women's Rugby Team. Since high school I have become an avid mountain biker, and practice yoga daily. When I am not outside playing sports, I enjoy painting, drawing and reading.

I do not have any experience caring for elders yet. I do have experience working in child care and coaching.

If I were to take care of an elderly person, I would help them in any way that they needed. I would also be there as a companion, to take them on adventures, read or play cards with them.

I am capable of cleaning and cooking for them. I am also able to provide assistance for bathing, going to the washroom and grooming. I can help them with any range of motion exercises that they need to do. I can change bed pans and do any heavy lifting that they may need assistance with.

Additional Experiences/Qualifications/Preferences:
I have a class 5 divers license and a clean driving record. I have a valid Canadian passport. I am a certified level one first aid attendant, which is valid until August 2018. I started caring for children early in high school, after I took the "babysitting" course at St. Johns. I spent a couple evenings a week babysitting for various families in my neighborhood. In grade 10 I took my National Coaching Certificate Level One, in conjunction with my Freestyle Coaching Certificate. I started to coach for the Vancouver Freestyle Ski Association, and have been coaching for them every since. In grade 11 I took my Community Coach Certificate, which qualified me to coach soccer to children aged 5-10. I worked at Escape Adventures, which is a summer camp for children aged 4-12. It was a mountain bike specific camp, however many the children engaged in many other activities. I lead a group of 10 children, with the assistance of one volunteer. I also worked for Whistler Sports Academy, leading the same type of camps. In my final year of university, I worked as a Nanny for two boys aged 5 and 11. My duties included picking them up from school, making after school snacks for them, taking them on outings, cleaning, making their family dinner, and helping them with homework.
