Hello, I am 33 years young and raising two amazing boys. I was a Licensed Practical Nurse from 2006 to Jan 1, 2018, I currently do not have a permit to practice. However I am in the process of reinstating my permit to practice. One of my greatest passions in life is caring for others, a majority of my nursing career has been caring for the elderly. I have a lot of experience caring for those living with Alzheimer's and Dementia. I truly love the elderly, many people say I am like my mom in that regard. My mom has recently retired after 28 years as a health care aid from a long term care facility. Like her, I am a very compassionate and patient person and believe that the most important thing the elderly have is their dignity. I am also very energetic, active, and fit. I have led some of the elderly in exercise classes at the last facility I worked in. I have to say the most important thing to come from my nursing career is the life lessons it has taught me. It has shown me patience, compassion, empathy, love, joy, sadness and so many other emotions that one only gets when caring for the elderly. It wasn't uncommon for me to lose sight of these people as my clients and care for them as though they were my family. I care very deeply and have cried with many families knowing how difficult this transition in life is. Remembering how your mom, dad, or grandparents used to be and sadly realizing they know longer are that person has to be one of the most difficult things in life. I would love to help anyone in need of an excellent care provider and help in any way I can to make the last stage in life as joyful as possible for not only the person I am caring for, but also for the family.
