I am a passionate teacher and I love children. I have a Bachelor and a Master in the field of Education. In my free time I like reading books and live a healthy lifestyle (cooking, sports). COVER LETTER I hold a Master of Education (MEd) in Educational Leadership and Policy from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Education in Elementary Education from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. In my 14-year career in elementary education as a teacher, I dealt with large groups of different students, coped with behavioral and learning problems, increasing their personal and group performance and productivity. For this, I implemented numerous methods and strategies, and more specifically, Effective Learning, Cooperative, Collaborative and Cognitive Learning, Social and Emotional Learning (SEL), the Socratic Method and Differentiated Instruction trying to meet the intellectual and emotional needs of every single student. I focused on student-centered teaching methods through active learning which leads to intrinsic motivation and it is driven by internal rewards. The result was self-motivated and self-disciplined students with strong metacognitive strategies, who enjoyed learning by using internal incentives. In addition, I taught in multicultural schools and worked with students with disabilities, gifted, of low socio-economic status, bilingual students who had as a first language other than the language of instruction, students with dyslexia as well as with behavioral problems. These experiences changed me as a person myself, shaped my way of thinking and made me more empathetic, sensitive, responsive and proactive towards students. This, resulted in searching for creative and playful ways to cope with various student problems. I have also served as a School Administrative Assistant, Teacher Trainer, Supervisor and Mentor as well as School Librarian which helped me to build strong training and leadership skills by working with adults.
