I am only interested in caregiver/companion to the elderly. I have from a very young age felt a connection with the elderly. I believe they deserve our care and respect after the years they spent shaping our lives and living full lives. I grew up in Etobicoke and my connection with the elderly began when my grandmother lived with us for 1 yr and then moved to an adult independent complex. Even before I could drive I would hop on the TTC to visit her. Socialized with so many residents and learned so much from this generation. Later my father had Parkinson’s/dementia and learned how to care for his special needs with patience, compassion and understanding. 3 years after my father passed my mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s/dementia. I was with her everyday, administering medication, meals, cleaning, bathing, diapers, banking & bills, numerous appts, and taking her out daily for a pleasurable excursion. I believe I have what it takes to look after your loved one like they were my own.

Looking to be caregiver, companion to elderly. I have had experience being part-time caregiver to my father who had Parkinson’s/dementia for 3 years prior to his going into long-term care. My mother had the full-time morning & afternoon care as I worked full-time and arrived for dinner and evenings, bathing, personal care, exercise, companion and bedtime. 3 years after my father passed, my mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s/dementia. My mother also had other health issues, kidney disease and heart (pacemaker, high blood pressure/cholesterol). Administered her medications when she was no longer capable of keeping track of them, along with a monthly injection needle for her kidneys (stage 3-4). At this time I was able to stop working full-time with an employer to look after my mother full-time. Scheduled and took her to all specialist appointments, called in all prescriptions, cleaning, laundry, cooking, errands and daily activities (walks, parks, shopping, day trips) to keep her mind active. Along with attending church every Sunday. Maintaining schedules that had always been part of her daily/weekly routines. Additional Experiences/Qualifications: First aid & CPR
