I am a second-year nursing student at St Clair College as a Registered Practical Nurse. Having prior experience working in the healthcare field, I have always been passionate about making a difference in people's lives. What I find to be the most rewarding about being a nurse is the numerous career paths available within the profession. Hopefully, in two years, I want to take my job to the next step to become a registered nurse, enabling me to utilize my skills to my fullest potential. My hobbies include reading, cooking, travelling and listening to music. I am also a pet lover, especially dogs. My ultimate goal is to make life more manageable for my patients and their family members, reduce their stress, and enable them to spend time with other family members, take a vacation, or take the time they need to handle their daily affairs. I believe that having a consistent caregiver is especially beneficial to patients for companionship. Many seniors respond well to continuity, and they feel safe when their environment, schedule, and caregiver are the same, which is especially important for seniors with memory loss. I can provide as much stability as possible, knowing that seniors, in particular, may become anxious or agitated if their caregivers alternate, as they may not trust people who do not seem familiar. It would be a pleasure to have the opportunity to achieve the overall objective goals by advocating for better care. As a versatile, trustworthy individual, I am confident that my compassion, positive attitude, and other characteristics could help build positivity and establish a relationship based on trust.
