In 2014, I obtained a diploma as a Community Service Worker (CSW) and Counseling Services. I have acquired sufficient knowledge and diverse skills, which have equipped me with the ability to assist young children, adolescents, and adults with mental illness, addictions, behavioral exceptions, and dual diagnosis; who may need emotional support or adapting new positive life skills into daily functioning.
I have a firm understanding of psychology and sociology and have gained experience handling and distributing psychotropic medications, advocacy, Crisis Intervention and 1-to-1 counseling.
From 2014-2017, I assumed the role of a CYW and counselor working in conjunction with the Windsor and London Children’s Aid Society; In this field, where my responsibilities included report writing, psychotherapy, advocacy, medication administration, maintaining and attending appointments, intervention strategy implementation, and have continued to keep myself updated with Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training and CPR.
I have also spent 3 years working with citizens with physical and mental disabilities that require 24/7 support. I have learned how to operate multiple mechanics that are required by those in wheelchairs (lift, slings, electric wheelchairs) as well as many of the previously mentioned skills.
I feel my enthusiasm; experience and conscientiousness would make me a great asset to your organization. I enjoy working as a team member and have satisfaction that my duties in some way will shape the development of society.
