I am a married mother of 3 grown sons. For almost 18 years I have been a companion/caregiver to many elderly people in various situations (in their homes, in nursing homes or retirement homes, in the hospital). My duties have included housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, bathing/hygiene care, wound care, companionship and errands such as grocery shopping, picking up medications, driving to medical/other appointments, etc. I am seeking a minimum of 2 to maximum 8 hours per day. My years of experience have given me the opportunity to work with various degrees of illness, disability and dementia. In doing so, I have had the opportunity to apply and develop my innate sense of compassion, patience and attentive care necessary to give you and your loved ones a sense of confidence and security. Because I spent almost 8 years caring for my elderly mother before she passed, I understand the impact this stressful time can have on family members. It can be very difficult to balance personal time with caring for a loved one, so I enjoy being able to support both parties in a mutually beneficial way. Although most of my recent experience in caregiving has been with the elderly, I also spent many years doing child care out of my home while my children were growing up. Therefore I am flexible with the needs of prospective clients (i. e. : age, physical/mental limitations, etc. ). I live in Cranston and wish to stay in the south end of Calgary. I have cleaned other's homes for over 18 years while being a companion/care-giver to seniors. I am currently cleaning for an elderly woman twice per month.
