Personal Information: As a parent and foster parent, I have had many years of experience caring for children, especially infant and preschool age. I have worked as a school bus drive for many years, at a daycare and nanny for 3 years. For the last 2 years, I have been a companion to a senior in a care home. While I enjoyed spending time with my client, in the end I found it too sedentary and not as challenging as I would like. I have had many years of experience running my own household for up to 8 people which meant doing all the cooking, cleaning, laundry, errands and organizing my day in such as a way as to complete all the tasks. Meanwhile I still needed to care for children as well. I actually enjoy doing housekeeping tasks and like to see a job well done.

I have managed my own home for over 40 years. While providing for up to 6 children, I was able to keep a neat and clean home; taking care of cooking, laundry, cleaning, errands, etc. I had a cleaning schedule set up so I could complete tasks such as cleaning the fridge and stove and organizing and cleaning out closets and cupboards on a monthly or quarterly basis. I also planned a menu and shopped accordingly. At the daycare where I worked, I was required to do cleaning such as washing walls and windows, sweeping, mopping and vacuum the centre daily. There were many other tasks such as disinfecting the chairs and cleaning the washroom according to protocol. Also cleaning all surfaces in the kitchen and preparing food. When I was a school bus driver, I needed to keep the exterior of my vehicle clean, and I also swept the interior weekly and washed windows as required. In my last position, I preformed light housekeeping duties such as keeping the kitchen clean, preparing meals and tidying and organizing as required. I most recently had a position with a widower with 2 school-age children in which I did provided all services; cooking, shopping, prepping children for school, laundry, cleaning and organizing. My days were full and busy and I enjoyed this. However, in the end I had to resign due to non-payment of salary. Additional Experiences/Qualifications: I last had a criminal record check and child abuse registry check October 2017. I have previously had first aid and CPR training and also a safe food handlers certificate. As well, I hold a class 2 licence and have attended many driver training sessions.
