Hello :) My name is Sophie. I live in Pitt Meadows and absolutely love the area. I enjoy a simple life and taking part in things that bring me happiness. I have been a member of Girl Guides of Canada for 17 years now, which has been a great part of my life. I love being outside - gardening, camping, hiking, snowshoeing, etc. I also enjoy- cooking, reading, arts & crafts, learning new things, and travelling (given the opportunity). I have a variety of experience working with children. Some of my experience working with children have been through the leadership roles in summer programs, and reading programs for five summers; through Girl Guides- being a leader, and helping other units and having been a live-in au pair. Currently I am in my 4th year of university completing a degree on History and English online. In 2012 I completed an associate of arts degree in elementary education, and in 2013, I obtained an advanced diploma in TESOL (teaching English to speaker of other languages). My ultimate educational goal is to obtain a degree in elementary education and to follow my childhood dream of becoming a teacher. Overall as a person, I am kind, compassionate and patient. I listen to understand first, rather than respond and having a caring, kind-hearted nature. I believe in the importance of imagination, and play and allowing for young minds to explore the world around us. If you feel that I may be a suitable fit for you and your family, I would love to hear from you. Thanks, Sophie

Hello, My name is Sophie, and I am 24 years old (turning 25, later this year). I am new to the Pitt Meadows area, and am LOVING it thus far. I grew up in a small town in the Kootenays, and lived there until I moved here in early January. Growing up in a small town has truly taught me the importance of "community" and "family". I come from a fairly large family- having 3 younger siblings, 11 uncles, 12 aunts and 37 first cousins, family is very important to me. I enjoy a simple life, and taking part in things that bring me happiness. I have been a member of Girl Guides of Canada for 15 years now, which has been a great part of my life. I love being outside - gardening, camping, hiking, snowshoeing, etc. I also enjoy- cooking, reading, arts & crafts, learning new things, and travelling (given the opportunity), as well as being a member of Girl Guides for 16 years. It is safe for me to say, "I love to clean. ". From a young age I have loved to clean as you can see the progress of your work and the outcome of it. I pay close attention to details while being efficient. I am extremely well organized allowing me to manage my time in the best way possible, as well as sort through, and organize a fridge, cupboard or closet in an effective manner. Aside from cleaning, cooking, baking and event planning are other skills of mine that have been noticed and welcomed by others. While cooking and baking is a hobby of mine, I have cooked for others at various functions and events within my family and community before. I also have a vast range of experience planning events for groups as small as 2 people to as many as 100. Having planned a 3 day Girl Guide camp for 100 girls and adults, including - activities, meals, camp site arrangements, registration and safety procedures, no event or function is to big or to small. If you feel that I may be a suitable fit for you and your family, I would love to hear from you. with grace, Sophie
