I'm 53 years old and have one daughter who lives with me she is 29. I haven't worked for the past 5 years as I was caring for my elderly mother who passed away March 5th 2023. The last 2 years of my mom's life she was palliative in her home where my daughter and ilived with her. I learned a lot in those last 2 years. We had to bathe her in bed and use a hoyer to move her from bed to chair. I gave her required meds took her blood pressure Temperature blood glucose and gave her insulin. Near the end I also gave her the comfort meds that were given to us by the nurse. I was compliment on how organized I was and the care I gave my mom. We also had to blend her food for the days she couldn't eat solids. I realize what a difficult job this is and how hard it is to trust someone else with your loved one. Myself and my daughter did everything as I was the type not trusting others and I felt I could give my mom the best care. Most of my past jobs have been clerical but I feel working with elderly seems to be a more satisfying job for me as I've always been the type trying to make others happy and it gives me joy seeing others happy. I've cleaned homes in the past but on my own. I'm very detailed oriented and always get compliments on how I keep my own home. I would give the same level of care to someone else's home
