My name is Katie. I am an addictions and crisis support worker who left the field to pursue nursing school . I am currently seeing a live in/live out family management/caregiver/personal assistant employment opportunity. My experience at Safe Harbour Soxiety has transferable skills to caregiving as many of the symptoms of mental health disorders are similar to those suffered by the elderly and handicapped. I assisted in the direct care of elderly clients at the shelter, including wound care, bathing, personal grooming, dressing, emotional support and crisis intervention support. For the past 3 years I was a live in home support/personal assistant to my grandfather while he transitioned to life alone when my grandmother passed. I took care of appointment scheduling, grpvery shopping and meal preparation, all general housekeeping and pet care, chopped wood and maintained a fire in the wood stove, garden and indoor plant care, seasonal decorating of interior and exterior of house, personal assistance with phone calls, bill payments and financial management, med administration, respite care, general maintenance of his every day life.
