  About Me

Hi Parents,

My name is Lisa, and I am an experienced nanny who is fluent in three languages. I am a former public school teacher, and have been a nanny for eight years. I have been a live-in nanny (part of the time), to five newborns, (a large family). The oldest in that family was nine when I left. I have also been a live-out nanny to some twos/threes and a five/six-year-old, sixteen-month-old twins, six/seven-year-old twins, six-10-month-olds, and a 16-month-old. I enjoy both live-in, and live-out nanny work.

I am very athletic and dynamic, (swimming on average 50-100 laps a week and dancing); however, I am calm and loving with children. I am a "whisperer, "who succeeds in coaxing little ones to eat and sleep, through humour, charm, music and dance, and a lot of patience, confident perseverance, and tenderness. I love reading with children and babies, and doing educational, creative, or imaginary activities. I am able to build a special rapport with them, as well as with their parents.

I am able to teach, (or ''un-teach''. ) habits, create structure and routines, which are beneficial for socializing, gaining confidence, and learning to face challenges. Humour, clowning, music, as well as recognition, go a long way in motivating them.

I also very much enjoy the support role I can sometimes play, helping the parents directly and indirectly. One, more indirect way, is through housekeeping and maintenance, home and space management, and even decorating and storage organization. I can make homemaking more fun for everyone to participate in.. even dad. (Some dads like to organize and some like to wear the chef's hat and concoct hilarious and original Sunday suppers, becoming popular kitchen warriors and clutter terminators.. costumes optional, but usually irresistible. )

I would love to meet with you and your family; and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

All the best,

Lisa Gamble

07/15/15 Ottawa Subject: Recommendation letter for Lisa Dear Parent, I am sending this to you to recommend Lisa as a nanny. I would like to emphasize an important point: Lisa was an excellent nanny to my eldest grandson, Lucas, from newborn, and to each of his brothers,as well, (2005- 2013). In addition, she was a marvelous homeschool teacher for Lucas, for his kindergarten year. Having her as his teacher was wonderful for him. Even more important was her tenderness and loving care, which were central to both his intellectual development, to his development in general, as well as to that of each of his four siblings. Lisa proved herself able to provide for and assure the safety and happiness of each of the children, both in my, (their grandfather's) home, as well as occasionally in their own home, and on their many adventures, outings, and weekly trips to the pool. Lisa also worked for me a second time, (2016-2017), when she resided with my daughter and her family in Lachute. She single-handedly took over the running of the household as both parents worked/studied full time for the first time. She trained the children in helping in the kitchen, laundry, and with the dog and cat, as well as homeschooling all five children in English and French. Needless to say, she was an invaluable contribution to controlling and managing the many simultaneous tasks necessary to accomplishing such a feat. And as always, she was faithful to her mandate to keep love, as her first priority. Lucas, Gabriel, David, Jonah, and Caleb became confident, socialized children, under her care. She showed herself to be punctual, and also to be a moral support for the children and the parents and myself; all of whom truly benefited from her training and experience in education, administration, sports, and the fine arts. In addition, Lisa also worked as a personal assistant to me, supporting me in the various administration and communication responsibilities of my language service business. Her education administration, teaching, and language backgrounds, (English, Spanish, and French), were invaluable assets for running my business. I am at your disposal, and would be pleased to discuss with you further, as to Lisa's contribution to our family, Sincerely, Francois Garcia

SLC To whom it may concern: The following is to recommend Lisa as a candidate to work with children. Lisa worked for me from September to December 2005, in three daycare centers on the south shore of Montreal. She was punctual, well-mannered, hard-working, and dependable. Lisa taught English as a second language and Spanish as a third language to Francophone children, aged 18 months to five years. Lisa used kinetic activities, games, song, and age-appropriate books and materials. She created her own program. The children loved her bee on a spring which would leap high with enthusiasm in response to the children's participation. I recommend Lisa without reservation. She is able to offer a rich contribution pedagogically, as well as to bring joy, laughter, and fun to the world of children. Sincerely, Andre Leroux
