Hi, my name is Taylor and I graduated Cum Laude from the Honors Bachelor of Social Work program at Laurentian University in Barrie in May 2015. I am currently working as a mothers helper/nannyand a Postpartum Doula and I adore my job. I have a passion for working with people, especially with young children. I have a vulnerable sector police check and completed children/infant First Aid/CPR in April 2015. I love spending time with children and working in both directive and non-directive ways to engage them actively. I am an approachable, loving, respectful person and I have been told by many parents that I need to stay in the childcare field. My formal work experience with children is listed below, but I also have ample informal work experience working with and caring for several children aged 2-11 on a regular basis for the past six summers. Postpartum Doula: I am a DONA trained Postpartum Doula and I have worked with several families to help them adjust to their new life with babe. Mothers helper/nanny: I have worked for several families caring for children aged newborn-7 years old. I have cared for up to 3 children at a time under the age of 3. I love working with children and hope I can for years to come. Genesee Counselling Service (September 2014 – April 2015 ) as an Intake Coordinator and Student Counsellor as well as a Child Focused Counsellor (April 2015- October 2015) The child focused work I did at this agency took place mainly in the playroom. I worked with the children in both directive and non-directive ways through play, art and narrative. I figure out what the child likes and focus on that in session, while testing their limits with new activities and engagement opportunities.

I graduated high school as an Ontario Scholar in 2011 and graduated Cum Laude from the Bachelor of Social Work Program offered through Laurentian University in Barrie in May 2015. I have also completed a course in breastfeeding education.
