I love to stay active. My favourite forms of physical activity are dance and soccer! I have a background in Digital Marketing, but my love for caring for littles will always bring me back to nannying.

My name is Shantel, and I’m an experienced Nanny and Youth Worker (more info below). Over the last decade, I’ve acquired skills that have given me the ability to provide high-quality service and care. I’ve been working in childcare for ten years, beginning with nannying and eventually moving on to teach and hold workshops in elementary schools surrounded around social and emotional learning. I am a big believer in Montessori teaching and am constantly looking to learn more ways to incorporate it into my day-to-day with the little ones. I am also a professional dancer which keeps me active and on my toes. Because of this, I’ve developed great time management skills. I love being outdoors, and I love to bake. I try to share my love for these things with the children I am caring for as much as possible. YOUTH WORKER ROLE: As a Youth Worker, I worked in elementary schools all over the GTA running programs through an independent company. I taught students (K-8) about self regulation, mindfulness, diversity, and inclusion. There is a fitness aspect to each of the programs, so I am used to being active and on my feet for 8 hours a day. I taught dance, yoga, and ran high intensity circuits for students as young as 3 years old, and as old as 14. This job taught me to adjust and be flexible, and that is now one of my strengths.
